Megan Daugherty is a Chicago-born native. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Science (for community/clinical psychology) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently attending Adler University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program.

Megan incorporates an eclectic approach; she utilizes a multicultural, cross-cultural, and client-centered approach. She often cultivates a safe space to foster a working, collaborative therapeutic relationship with all clients. She works alongside them to navigate through and better understand their unique experiences.  Megan aids in building and strengthening tools for clients to navigate life outside of the office/sessions. She strongly emphasizes on understanding individuals within their context, including their personal needs and goals,  and to collaborate on the best suited course of action for each client.

Megan believes that multicultural competency is an important pillar within counseling (and related fields). She appreciates the unique stories every individual has, and would like to better understand how others view the world, as well as how the world impacts them. Her motto is: The process is collaborative! The client plays an important role in their own life, as well as the therapeutic relationship. She belieces counseling should be more accessible to people across a wider range of contexts .

In her free time, Megan likes to read, bake, and hang out with members of her “village”. She has a deep love for our city that inspires her to do her part in the betterment of it, starting with how she approach counseling.
